Cu Chi Tunnels are places where tunnels have been dug in the ground, from the main road a myriad of short branches, interconnected, or independently without branches depending on the terrain of the place. The tunnels have many branches to flow into the Saigon River, so that when being in critical situation, they can cross the river to Ben Cat of Binh Duong. The tunnel is not very deep, but it is resistant to artillery shells and the weight of tanks and armored vehicles, the deep sections resist small bombs.
